Sadie had a great time with her friends and classmates at the 8th grade dance tonight. It was held in her school cafeteria with a live dj and lots of balloons, glow sticks, and food. I think looking forward to this night and shopping for a dress and accessories was a big part of what made this a special event for Sadie. She and her friend Jessica got ready together, and made their fashionably-late entrance together. Sadie's nails were done at the nail salon yesterday, but since we were in a hurry to get her to volleyball practice, we didn't allow enough drying time, so half of the paint was smudged and had to be redone today. All of the effort was worth it to see how confident in herself she was among her peers tonight.
