It's been nice to be at home together. We have made it through our first holiday season without Keith; it's a milestone I didn't want to have to face. God has been with us, sustaining us. I'm not sure how we would have gotten through any of this without a foundation of faith.
I am a Methodist, a mother, and a public school teacher, learning to live in the new role of widow. God has truly sustained me and my family. I like to share about daily family life.

A Deck with A View
This was my view from my deck recently. Our deck was a gift from Keith; it's one of my favorite places to read. A few quick things:
a. Tonight, Sadie is attending cotillion; Maggie is at UIL competitions today. What great kids I have, and what wonderful things they get to participate in.
b. I have had 2 dreams about Keith this week; both have been reassuring and wonderful, just spending time together.
c. I am close to tears today when I think about him; wishing he was here to make more great memories.
d. Finding time to get to the store, clear out clutter, clean and cook is a challenge right now. Ready for the two weeks off we are about to have.:)
e. Made chicken and dumplings this week, with leftover turkey from the freezer, and 2 cans really cheap canned biscuits. It was a great quick meal.

Princess for a Day
Maggie was Princess Diana for the day at school. The students selected a person from history on which to write a biographical report. Part of the assignment included dressing up as the person selected. Maggie selected Princess Diana, and we had fun getting her outfit together. She did a great job on her presentation. Good job, Maggie!

Bee Sting....Ouch!
Maggie was stung by a bee on the playground yesterday (again). We have decided she must be allergic to bee stings, because they always swell. This time, it flew up and stung her on the forehead.
Ouch.
Ouch.
