UIL Spelling!!!

My special 7th grader went to UIL competition earlier this month. She competed with other 7th graders from several districts in UIL Spelling. She is at the far left back row. She placed 4th Place! I am so proud of her! Fourth place in our district! She will be awarded a medal and presented to the school board. She is sooo special!

New Year Ahead

We have had a great beginning to a welcomed new year. Both of the girls are doing so well in school and our schedule has slowed down a bit compared to what it was last month. There seems to be enough time right now to rest, visit the library, and enjoy each other. I have been doing lots of good reading and less watching TV. It has been very refreshing.

White Christmas 2009!

We had a wonderful White Christmas this year. It blew in really hard from the west, almost in a straight horizontal fashion. Really beautiful.

Thanksgiving Day

We had so much fun on Thanksgiving Day. We really enjoyed decorating the table; we used stuff from www.thetoymaker.com to decorate.

Making Thanksgiving Candy

The girls made fudge on Saturday using a Carnation Famous Fudge kit. It was very successful. They are enjoying the fudge. Also, Maggie won a prize for bringing in Box Tops for Education to school.

Snuggly Sister Saturday

I took some nice snuggly fall pictures, and a few pictures of a piece of furniture I picked up to hold mail and backpacks, etc. I really like it. Also, I have enjoyed this fall arrangement so much. Sadie tells me this house now feels like home.
